Sidmouth Robots return to help you with a robot workshop joined by visiting robots from the University of the West of England.
The Robot Workshop offers about a dozen different robot-related activities and experiences. The robots range from simple Lego compatible cars to which you can add features, to a professional standard motion-control rig, which you can’t touch but which will film your very own stop-motion animated video. There are also a range of remote-control activities, from slow-moving sheep herding which appeals to younger children to duelling drones which require utmost concentration and skill at a high level. The demonstrators have mostly built the robots from scratch themselves, and have a deep knowledge of robotic subjects, from computer vision to neural networks, as used in Artificial Intelligence.
Light refreshments are available.
Free of charge, donations welcome. No need to book.
