A Screaming Success with Nick Baker

Friday 9th October 2020 3:00PM – 4:00PM
Location/Venue: Online Only

‘A Screaming success’ – How to turn a church into a bird box and an agnostic into a regular church goer.

A detailed look into the private lives of one of our most enigmatic birds, the Common Swift and how anyone can do their bit to help them out.

This latest project started with a timely moan at the vicar at the local school fete. When I mentioned that we’d lost the swifts from the tower some 15 years ago, he was shocked and asked ‘can you get them back?’ Nick had no idea, but said ‘Yes’ – this simple conversation led to a project that has to date culminated in a small colony of these amazing birds, (the sight and sound of Summer) that is steadily getting bigger every year.

Nick Baker is a Devon based naturalist who is driven by an insatiable curiosity for the natural world. This has led to a long and varied career as a naturalist, ecologist, broadcaster and author.
